Dr. Jamil Kendall

Dr. Kendall is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements and complex adult reconstruction surgery. Dr. Kendall is dedicated to providing personalized care, empowering his patients to return to the activities they love—whether it’s walking without pain, playing with grandchildren, or more rigorous activities like hiking or biking.

Dr. Jamil Kendall grew up in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. He earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then began a career in the orthopedic device industry before returning to Washington to obtain his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

During medical school, Dr. Kendall became acutely aware of how a lack of mobility can profoundly impact patients' lives and well-being. This motivated him to dedicate his career to helping patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life through the practice of orthopaedic surgery. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR, receiving multiple awards for his leadership, patient care, and research achievements. During his residency, he led the Resident Diversity Committee, advocating for the needs of both providers and patients from underserved communities. He further honed his skills through a fellowship at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University in Chicago, IL, focusing on primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Kendall is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His academic contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading orthopedic journals. He has also presented at numerous national conferences, earning awards for his impactful contributions to the field.

Dr. Kendall believes in building strong relationships with his patients to provide care that best suits their individual needs, whether that involves non-operative treatment or surgical options. This commitment, combined with his extensive training, equips him to help patients reclaim their lives and enhance their quality of life.
